Our guests love to wonder through the woodlands and parklands. This is truly a place to relax make your heart sing and let your sprit soar. On your stroll you will come across many surprises - our wishing tree, the stone labyrinth, a walled ornamental herb garden, healing spiral - you may even spot our resident deer, rabbits and pheasants.

The bedroom is where we slip into the shadows of sleep, our “I” can dissolve into emptiness. It is a very simple room where you can genuinely feel close to the Zen way.

The futons can be folded away in the day to provide your own meditative, reflective space.

A simple cut flow in a vase offers a possible subject to practice meditation

Join us for a weekend of meditation

and relaxation at Kingscote Park

More and more people who visit Matara have expressed an interest in meditation and the spiritual side of Matara.

I have practiced meditation for over 35 years and find it the most powerful way of achieving inner peace and a sense of belonging in the world. I cannot imagine Matara being such a tranquil and beautiful place without the practice of meditation and I would like to share this with you.

We will have the opportunity to explore spirituality, which is now the fastest growing mega trend and examine how we interact with the planet. This can open up a whole new creative purpose and meaning in our lives as we begin to value nature, authenticity, loving relationships, and social responsibility. We will explore meaning, compassion and consciousness in order to realize their full potential together.

I believe Matara is a perfect winter meditative retreat. I would like to offer you the opportunity of weekend meditative retreat. Arrive on Friday evening and stay until Sunday afternoon.

The weekend In Kingscote House will be inspired by a Ryokan – a Japanese traditional inn. As well as the natural tranquillity of Kingscote Park, you will experience ‘being in the moment’ as you leave behind the stresses of everyday life and take time for yourselves.

As a symbol of leaving your everyday world behind, you will leave your shoes at the door and be given a pair of oriental slippers. Once settled in your room, you can slip into comfortable, loose oriental garments and immerse yourself in an atmosphere characterized by calm and tranquillity as you sip your green tea.

Each day we will explore the principle of mediation that quieten the mind expands awareness and takes you into a deep state of relaxation. You are invited to practice meditation twice a day, morning and evening. Meditation use to encourage health, long life and to reach the highest levels of personal development.

Accommodation meals and treatments are included for £750 per couple

I hope you are inspired by the possibility of the weekend as I am. Please let me know if you can join us. Which date would suit you the best?

Best wishes,

Geoffrey
