Many people want to feel a deeper significance to life. They long to see peace restored in the world, the planet treated with love and care, and people treated equitably.
People today are strongly aware of the problems of the whole planet (global warming, destruction of the rain forests, overpopulation, lack of ecological sustainability, exploitation of people in poorer countries).
Nature is a reflection of mankind and is currently going through a toxicity and healing crisis.
The state of the earth reflects the collective consciousness of humans; composed of a mixture of values from survival to unconditional love.
The time has come to make a choice for promoting life rather than destruction. Love, rather than fear.
We believe this can best be achieved though the regular practice of meditation. We dedicate Matara as a meditation learning
centre.

Journey into healing and evolving consciousness |

Spirituality
Spirituality
is now the fastest growing trend in the Western world. This is
reflected in the interest in Buddhism, meditation and yoga.
Which is a result of a widespread value change within Western
society and dissatisfaction with the main stream culture of
money, status and drive for success. We are beginning to value
nature, authenticity, loving relationships, social equality and
social responsibility.
Many people
feel their work is not meaningful as is does not encourage the
expression of these values. There is currently a search for
morals and meaning at work as well as a desire to experience a
sense of peace and harmony in a stressful world.
While people
long for harmony, wellbeing, inner peace and fulfilment in their
lives this will not be achieved without evolving our
consciousness, where we have the commitment and courage to
explore, discover and refine, breaking down and rebuilding to
higher levels of organization.
This can be
achieved by being aware of the evolution of consciousness, the
intention to evolve and refine your consciousness and the
regular practice of meditation as well as a support structure to
overcome the cultural conditioning and habits we have formed
over our life times
3 stages of consciousness
1. Originally
there was no separation between us and the outside world.
2. As we
became self consciousness our collective and individual ego was
formed. We began to see ourselves as subjects detached and
separate from the world. During this process we lost touch with
the source of our innate creatively. This sense of separation
has led to a state of disharmony within and between ourselves
resulting in the economic, social and environmental issues we
face. We appear to have gone as far as we can go at this level
of consciousness. The most important challenge we face is to
move to the next stage of consciousness.
3.The third
stage we intuitively know - subjects and objects become once
again as they were before. We begin to perceive ourselves as
local fields of consciousness that interact and trigger
previously un- manifested potential in the world. This based on
the power of positive intention and the law of attraction. We
begin to see everything as connected and perceive ourselves as
divine sparks from an eternal flame.
The third
level requires a total re- orientation of our perception where
we can integrate rational thinking and our intuitive minds, we
refer to as the ‘art of creative thinking’. You can discover and
explore the art of creative living in a residential workshop at
Matara.
Arrive on Friday evening and stay until Sunday afternoon. Each
day we will explore the principle of mediation that quieten the
mind expands awareness and takes you into a deep state of
creative relaxation.
I have been meditating for the last 35 years and find it the most powerful practice to archive inner peace and a sense of belonging in the world.
Without meditation I cannot imagine the Matara
Centre at Kingscote Park being such a tranquil and beautiful place. We have creating a meditation garden, and
centre that provides a haven away from the stresses of everyday life.

The World Health Organization has defined health as ‘a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being. This takes into account ones state of mind, how we think, perceive and conceptualize. These mental factors determine the attitudes we have about life, the way we deal with our physical and social surroundings and how we interact with others’. From this prospective we are all on a healing journey. |
